Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles is now betting on the strong demand for the buses for driving earnings, even as industry has grappled along with the sluggish sales of the medium & heavy duty trucks for this year. The domestic sales of bus of the VECV, which is joint venture amidst Volvo Group & Eicher Motors, have now accelerated by around 42 percent year-on-the-year for 4,826 units till now in the year 2012. World number 2 truck maker Volvo cut 208 jobs @ one factory in Brazil about the falling sales & weaker forecasts of economy, this company said recently. Mack recently announced that they will offer natural gas powered models of the Granite and Pinnacle models in the year 2013. Both the models will be using engine of Cummins Westport ISX12 G. Testing of customer is now scheduled to begin in this year. Addition of natural gas powered 12-litre models adds to Mack’s existing line-up of natural gas, which includes Terra Pro Low Entry & Terra Pro Cab over refuse models.
